Subject: Causes, first aid and treatment of different types of diseases.
Q:1 How did you started your career?
During the pursuance of my I degree I got married, but this did not in any way hinder to my thirst for studies and looking after and perusing my career. After graduating and completing my house-job I entered into practice in 1988. And interestingly from then till now I love my job and healing the patient is my passion.
Q:2 What makes you to choose this field?
Besides this it was my personal calling and national duty to take this as profession.
It gives you the opportunity to deal with different kind of people, to strive to make them happy and get yourself recognized.
Q:3 When was Chikungunya was discovered in Pakistan?
We don't have any data base in our hospitals, therefore we have to rely on the news coming from media.
The first case was reported in Karachi district Mali Saudabad hospital some two years ago.
Q:4 How Chikungunya is spread and how it can be prevented?
Primarily this virus spread thru infected mosquitos.
And interesting those bite in daytime.
Other animals like rodents, birds and other infected animals can spread the virus.
Q:5 How you treat a person when you came to know he/she is affected by Chikungunya?
As there is no vaccine available to prevent the disease, therefore, the most effective means for prevention is protection against contact with the disease carrying mosquitos and controlling mosquito population by limiting their habitat.
Drain out the standing water so that mosquitos do not pay eggs and develop as larva or insecticides and biological control agent be added to the standing water.
Q: What are dengue symptoms and what first aid should we give to the patient?
Sometimes people come with the complaints of high fevers, headaches and pain in muscles but these are not only symptoms of dengue skin rash, vomiting and fatigue are also its symptoms.
Dengue causes dehydration so to overcome that patient should drink plenty of fluids and take medicines like paracetamol to relieve pain and fever.
Q:7 How dengue can be prevented ?
As there is no vaccination for dengue as well so people by themselves have to take precautions. You can prevent dengue by covering yourself fully with clothes such as full selves, high necks and long pants. Moreover, try to avoid staying or living near stagnant water and use mosquito repellants
Q:8 Why diarrhoea is so common nowadays in rural areas?
Water is an integral part of our lives. It is source of health and is a natural detox.
In order to be healthy the water should be potable if not palatable at all.
The irrigation systems are the main source of drinking water for the common man which is highly contaminated and gives birth to many diseases at diahorea is due to this menace.
Other factors are rotten food, excessive heat and some different infectious diseases.

Q:9 What medicines should we take in symptoms of diarrhea?
ORS is the best treatment for the disease. If severity increases or the patient has long history than he is administered with antibiotic and dietary advices.
Q:10 Could you name 3 of the most challenging aspects of your role?
1. Motivating people who do not recognize the consequences of their addiction and don’t want to change
2. Involving close family members in a positive way in patient’s recovery. We work very hard at the Priory to do this
3. Challenging the widely held stigmas about addiction. I work with media trying to get this message across
Q:11 What is the most interesting part of your job?
As I already told you my job is my passion so every step taken towards healing the humanity does inspires me.
Q:12 Any message you want to give to your audience?
My message to all youngsters is that give full commitment to whatever you are doing, always be the part of solution and take good care of your environment and discourage the subversive activities.
