Biometric System
By Romana Mahesar
INTRODUCTION:-
Biometric System are automated methods of verifying or recognizing the identity of a living person on the basis of some psychological characteristics, like a finger print or face pattern, or some aspects of behavior, like hand writing or keystroke pattern. A biometric system based on psychological characteristics is more reliable than one which adopts behavioral features even if the later may be easier to integrate within certain specific applications.
As the level of security decreases and transaction fraud increases, the need for highly secure identification and personal verification technologies is more.
Biometric based solution is able to provide for confidential financial and personal data privacy.
HISTORY:-
The term “biometrics” is derived from the Greek word bio means life and metric means to measure. Biometrics was been founded by Francis Galton in 1892. The first known example of biometrics in practice was a form of finger printing being used in china I the 14th century by “Joao De Barros”.  ‘Bertillonage’ a method of bodily measurement was used by police authorities. The police then used finger printing which was developed by Richard Edward Henry of Scotland Yard.
Palm and fingerprint technology are quite similar. The human palm – as well as the finger – contains uniquely identifying markings in the form of circles, arcs, and wavy lines. These markings have been studied for over a century, and during that time millions of fingerprints have been collected to which no two have ever been identical. That said, instances of human error in fingerprint collection and processing methodology have led to false instances of false identification in the past, but the technology behind it certainly isn’t to blame. The first known use of the technology was by an Argentine police officer named Juan Vucetich in 1892 who not only started collecting and cataloging fingerprints in his native Argentina, but also used the technology to conclusively prove Francisca Rojas guilty in the murder of his neighbor after his thumb print was found to be identical to a bloody partial fingerprint left at the crime scene.
Since then, advancements in collection and cataloging methodology have made fingerprints the most widespread biometric technology used by law enforcement and government groups worldwide. Fingerprinting is affordable, offers predictable results, and improved technology – such as digital cataloging and automated cross-referencing – have made fingerprinting the number one biometric identifier used worldwide.

WORKING:-
All Biometric systems works in a four stage process that consist of the following steps.
CAPTURE:- A biometric system collects the sample of biometric features like finger print, voice etc.
EXTRACTION:-The data extraction is done uniquely from the sample and a template is created for unique features. Templates are stored in digital biometric code format.
MATCH OR NON-MATCH:- The system then decides whether the features extracted from the news sample are the match or non-match with the templates. When identity needs checking, the person interacts with the biometric system, a new biometric sample is taken and compared with the templates.
TECHNOLOGIES:-
Identification and verification systems:
Identification search a sample against a database of templates and Verification compare a sample against single stored templates.
METHODS
BEHAVIORAL BIOMETRIC :-
It is used for verification purpose.
Keystroke or Typing Recognition measures the characteristics of individual typing patterns, including the time spacing of words. It can be used for identifying people who may create in appropriate email or conduct.
Speaker identification or Recognition is used to discover unknown speakers identity based on patterns of voice pitch and speech style. Behavioral patterns of a voice differ with every individual.
PHYSICAL BEHAVIOUR:-
It is used for identification purpose.
This type of biometrics compares two fingerprints to determine identification.
Speaker or voice authentication is the analysis of vocal behavior by matching it to a voice model template.
Hand or finger geometry method uses 3D analysis of the finger for tracking and identification purposes.
Facial Recognition uses algorithms to analyze features. These include the position /size/shape of eyes nose, cheek bone and jaws line.
BIOMETRIC SYSTEM IN SCHOOL:-
·        When implementing biometrics system there are a number of factors that need to be considered and different types of biometric system are more appropriate for certain contexts and operational purposes. According to Naval Rai Hiranand High School, the biometric system is much strict as compared to the other government high schools.
The teachers are formally regular in the school and attend all classes, but in case of emergency or some necessary work, they have a right to take leave at that day.
The teacher is allowed to take leave twice in a month in the case of some important issues. Otherwise in Naval Rai high school, the teachers are quite regular and take their classes regularly and fulfill their responsibility.

Co-Curricular activities
By Mehak Anwer
INTRODUCTION:-Education is a broad concept that surpasses the four walls of a classroom. Their core aim of education is to foster all round development essentially means intellectual, physical, moral, sensible and social development. All round development can be achieved only through education. Education plays a fundamental role in the making of a man and his development as a culturally well developed social animal. To fulfill these objectives there is a prime need of striking a balance between syllabus, curriculum, books and also co-curricular activities beyond that. A Co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a typical pen and pencil classroom experience.
Co-curricular refers to activities, programs and learning experiences that compliment in some way what students are learning in school- i.e experiences that are connected to or mirror the academic curriculum. Co-curricular activities are typically, but not always defined by their separation from academic courses. For example; they are ungraded, they do not allow students to earn academic credit, they may take place outside of school or after regular school hours, and they may be operated by outside organizations.
Co-circular activities give the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their non-academic abilities. They actually complement the curricular activities and groom the students in the “Art of living and working together”. They are the true and practical experiences gained by students by their own learning. These activities might be compulsory, A few examples of common educational opportunities that may be considered co-curricular include such as student newspapers, musical performances, art shows, Drama classes, debate competitions and mathematics robotics. The theoretical knowledge will be enhanced when a co-curricular activity related to the content taught, is organized. Intellectual development of the personality is achieved to a great extent in the classroom itself. But, the aesthetic development like character building, spiritual and moral values, physical growth, creativity and many more are backed up by co-curricular activities only. Recommendation
By Sarah Aslam
Overall, it is observed that both of the schools are the oldest schools of Hyderabad city. Due to this fact, there have been quite a few changes that are taken in order to renovate the infrastructure as well as interior of the schools. There is, however, a need to renew the courses of the children’s books so as to compete with the new curriculum of the private schools along with the facilitation of the technological supplies such as computers and projectors so that the children are also equipped with not just knowledge but skills as well. Provision of home economics machinery should also be renewed and taught properly in order to promote skillful learning in the students.
