I believe in music and art: Hanif Lashari
Rumi said without music human is like an animal, music is an art
, music is nutrition of soul, when people listen to it, they are in the deepest
thinking and finding themselves. Sometime songs lead us into past, present and
future.
Hanif Lashari opened his eyes in the house of Paryal Lashari on 08 September 1963 in Mirpurkhas, Ustad Hanif did masters in economics from University of Sindh.
Ustad Hani Lashari is a classical sindhi singer, he is one of the student of great Sindhi classical singer ustad Mohammad Yousif.

Q: How your interest created in music field?
Ans: Actually our forefathers were basically from Jacobabad and
when I went to Jacobabad I used to go with my uncle Afzal fakir who was sufi
singer. Instead of playing the games I usually listened his songs, so that is
the reason, interest of music developed in me.
Q: Why you have chosen classical type music?
Ans: One day ustad Manzoor Ali Khan came to our village in
musical gathering, and I listened ustad live, I inspired from the voice and the
personality of ustad Manzoor Ali khan, after the musical gathering I went to
Ustad and asked him please give me teachings of music, he glad to hear but told
me, first complete your education then come to me, but unfortunately when I passed
matriculation in same year Ustad died. So, Ustad inspired me to
choose classical type of music.
Q: Nowadays, many Sindhi singers don't know about the ethics of
raag, they can't justice with poetry and raag as well. what is your opinion?
Ans: Verily, this is truth, no doubt, there are some unwanted
people came in music they don't know even a single word of music. First thing
musical institutions are not of qualities. Second that we found media
busy in political affairs, while media don't provide facilities to new singers,
in result they are unaware from music. Due to this new singers don't justice
with classical poetry. The yore of sindh was bright in this.
Q: Which type of poetry you mostly sing?
Ans: Usually, I sing classical poetry, poetry of Hamal fakir,
Shah Latif, Sachal Sarmast, and in urdu used Bhulley Shah and others poetry for
raag. So, poetry turns to music high level
Q: What is raag Kalyanh?
Ans: If we keep glance on history of sindh, we come to know that
music has been existed here since long time, which is due of Sufism. Shah
Latif's poetry is a symbol of that. One of them is Kaleyanh. We found
oneness of God in kaleyanh. Kaelyanh is sung at the last period of night.
Q: In Sindh there are no musical institutions, why?
Ans: Yes, there are lack of musical institutions in Sindh, no
system, no appreciation of music and art, mostly people say us that " they
are mangarhars" so, in Sindh people thought that singing and art is
a bad profession, but if you see Punjabi people always appreciate the music and
art, in Lahore NCA there is department of Musicology for apprentices,
egad we are still five minutes back.
