Sindhi Press is The Representative of Sindh

Sindhi Press emerged mostly in the last decade of 20thcentury as a most powerful and authoritive inistitution in Sindh. After its successful growth, some elements of power corridor tried to weaken its power, but could not succeed. It is clear that Sindhi Press has not seen more than three or four decades, in this short time , none institution can get moist progresive result. The birth of an organization, its emergence, its childhood, its adulthood and being its youngster has natural stages, definately Sindhi Press is still in taht process.

First of all, Sindhi press emerged as an industry which provided employment to many people of Sindh. As an industry, this was basic experience of Sindhi people which was successful. It is only indusrty, wwhich is in hand of Sindhi people. Second that Sindhi press has played important role in creating political, social, industrial, cultural and educational awarness. We donot see such examples in past which might have played this same role in Sindh. Sindhi print media broke the tradional status-que of politics, society and culture. The more Sindhi press will develop, the more tradional status-que will get weak. On social and political platform, Sindhi print media has introduced new powers while on cultural platform, it has exposed and rejected inhuman behaviours like honour killing and yearly marraige. Whenever we see injustice with people of Sindh, it is only Sindhi press which is farword to take case of Sindh. And whenever it takes case of Sindh, actually it gets success taking people into confidence.

Once there were difficulties to raise the voice of Sindh, but now Sindhi print media has provided strenght to the voice of Sindh. Now at least, Sindh has a platform from where issues are noticed on Sindh and national level. Sindhi print media has opened the doors of informationand education. There was poverty of information, people were unaware from the changings of the world, at that time it was Sindhi press which connected the Sindh with the rest of world.

There seems two challenges for Sindhi print media. Many newspapers are being published in the same style, so it will be better to publish nespapers in differnt styles. They must introduce science, literature, health and economy on their pages. Second that newspaper must compete with each other on professional level. They must increase their quality instead of quantity and it is only possible by inovation. New institution of Sindhi press must be introduced on the basis of qualities and merit. If all newspapers are on same platform, it will be difficult for others to ignore issues of Sindh. The strength of Sindhi print media ia actually the strength of Sindh. Therefore, it must come farword with professional entity.
