Homestead Hall / Hasrat Mohani District Library Homestead Hall Hasrat Mohani District central Library was built in 1905 by the British inthe memory of Dr. Homestead, a famous civil surgeon of Hyderabad. It is the biggest and oldest reference Library in the city. It is adjacent to Pakka Qila and the Historic Mukhi house. The building is spread out over more than 18000 square ft and rest of the 1.5 acres contains a green park. A parking space, a mosque. In 1967 the building was renamed after a revolutionaryfreedom movement leader and member of India constituent Assembly Syed Fazal Hussain Hasrat Mohani. The library has been occupied by several government departments. After partition the regional head office of “Radio Pakistan” was set up in the Library and operated till1967.Over the next four decades it housed several governments departments while the Library was restricted to only one room. The steps taken by the District government to extensively refurbish and renovate the Hasrat Mohani Library Hyderabad were warmly welcomed by enthusiastic knowledge seekers of this Historical City. Now this Library presents altogether new and impressive books giving a pleasant surprise to all those visitors who have witnessed its dilapidated and worn out condition before. Beside refurbishment and renovation,The Library is now fully equipped with latest books, magazines and various Newspapers. There are three main Sections, one is reading section, second is Newspaper section, and third is children section. There is a “E” section also where internet facility is available for the students at free of costs and students can get prints outs of their required documents. There are about 25000 books which includes management Science, social Science, Zoology, Botany, chemistry, Bio Chemistry, CSS, PCS, English, Urdu, Islamiyat, Christianity, Hinduism and other religious books, Educational Science, History, Muslim politicians History, Non Muslims History, Literature, Urdu Literature ,Sindhi Literature, English Literature ,Humanity books, Encyclopedia, Biography, Philosophy, Dictionaries by different National and International authors are available. Shaukat Khanam Foundation usually donates the books in the Library. There are two separated study portion for girls and boys. The Library provides Ten Newspapers to the visitors daily which include(Dawn newspaper, Nawae waqt, Awami akhbar, Daily Express, Kawish, Daily Umat, Regional Times, Daily Times, Daily Jasarat, The Nation).Given the ever increasing number of visitors and their demands , the Library is confronted with multiple problems such as non availability of the required books and shortage of furniture. Due to the increasing numbers of visitors and their demands for the Books they have a demanding register in which Students write their demanding books names with their signs and end of the year the Library In charge (Mr Basharat Ali) writes a letter in which he requests to provide the listed books which are required for the Students and sent it to the head office of Library which is situated in Islamabad. Fourteen members including In charge looking after the management of Library. Library remains open from Monday to Friday at 9am to 7pm.The security in Hasrat Mohani Library is performing by Ghazi security Company, but the facility of CCTV cameras are not available there. CCTV cameras are needed to monitor the Library on daily bases because it is very sensitive area because of the religious Shrines (Mazaraat) which are very near to the Library, any dangerous accident can happen here that’s why there should be tight security .The Government is requested to do the needful in their regards. The instant release of funds for this Library will go a long way to solve all problems be setting out. The much needed government patronage would be a great favor to the students and public and will improve impetus to the efforts to revive the lost book culture

SHAIKH PABLIC LIBRARY
As we know that , as a human being we always curious about learn new things and this learning process is unstopable . That’s why we say humans are always thirsty for education . As far as education is concerned , education is treasure for all the people of the world whether its religious or worldly . And for education we need to read books and for books we must have a library, we also have a library and its name called “sheikh library” and its owner name is “salam sheikh” . In the beginning this library was in the cart , then the owner decided to rent a shop for library and day by day this library got too much popularity . The name of library is belongs to owner’s cast .This library is located in latifabad and it’s very famous in this territory . There are a lot of books in this library all types of books are available in this library like for school , colleges and universities even css preparation furthermore, story and novels too.There are 7 workers in this library and there salary is about 5000 monthly for each person. They purchase their books from urdu bazaar . In this library 200 books are issue in per day. They charge 5 rupees per day for issue book. There are 20000 books in this library . the rent of the shop is about 20000 per month and they purchase books from urdu bazaar for 10000 and the daily income of this library is 20000 per day . according to the profit they don’t give enough salary to their workers even they sell expensive books in their library . for that reason students sell their old books for less price and then library sell same book but in more price .

SHAMSUL ULEMA DAUPOTA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Shamsul Ulema Daudpota Public Library was established in October, 1961. Initially, the library was established in a portion of NJV High School, Karachi and after a year it was shifted to Hyderabad’s Muslim College. After the completion of new building in 1965, it was relocated to in a building, which is now in the use of Sindh Provincial Museum. In July, 1971, the heirs of Dr. Umer Bin Muhammad Daudpoto, the great scholar and educationist of the time, donated his personal collection of books to this library and hence it was renamed after him. Following the establishment of Sindh Culture Department in 1986, it took over all such libraries. This Public Library remain open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm without any break. Around two to three hundred visitors daily visit this Library and it is very much equipped with all necessary facilities of air conditioning system, cool drinking water etc. This is the third largest public library of Sindh after Liaquat Memorial Library, Karachi, and Sachal Sarmast Library, Khairpur Mir's. The library has a collection of nearly one lac books mainly in Sindhi, Urdu, English and few in Arabic and Persian. There are around 5,000 books for children. Moreover, for the facility of common readers, a large number of newspapers and periodicals of Sindhi, Urdu and English languages are placed in library’s reading room.

اور لائبریری مختلف علم کے حصول کیلئے اور کتوب بینی کا آسان ذریعہ ہے اس ہی تگودودنے ہمیں اک ایسی لائبریری میں پہنچادیا جو کہ نہ صرف حیدرآباد بلکہ گردونواح کے علاقوں سے لوگ آ کر فیض حاصل کرتے ہیں یہ ہے حیدرآباد کی مشہور اورقدیم لائبریری جس کا نام ہے ’’علامہ داؤد پوتا لائبریری‘‘اس کی1965 ؁ء میں تعمیر نوع کی گئی جو مغلیہ او سندھ ثقافت کا عکاس بھی ہے اور پرانی روایات کا امین بھی یہ ایک وسیع و عریض رقبہ پر واقع ہے سامنے کار پارکنگ ہے خوبصورت لان ہے بل کھاتے کوریڈور دو منزلہ پر شکوہ عمارت جس میں کثیر تعداد میں ہال اور آفس موجود تھے اس کی ملازمین کی تعداد تقریباً 50سے 55 ہے ایک صاف ستھرا شفاف ماحول شیشے اور لکڑی سے بنی بلند و بالا الماریاں مختلف شوکیس درمیان میں بنی اسٹیڈی ٹیبل خوبصورت ماحول جو خود بہ خود پڑھنے والے کو اپنی طرف مائل کرتا ہے ہم نے جب بنظر غائر اس کا جائزہ لیا تو پتہ چلا کہ اس میں روزانہ تقریباً 25 سے 30 اخبا ر رسالے اور مختلف جرائد آتے ہیں ۔جس میں جنگ، نوائے وقت، ایکسپریس، خبریں، امن، امت، جرأت ، ریاست، کاوش ، عوامی آواز، عبرت، حلال پاکستان، سندھ سکار، ہل چل، مہران ۔

انگلش:۔ اکنامک، ٹائم میگزین ، نیوز ریڈر، ورلڈ ٹائم، گلوبل ایج ، ریڈر، انٹر نیٹ ، ہرالڈ میگزین ، اسپائٹل

انجینئرنگ کا شعبہ حدیث ایڈیشن کے 70سے72 کتابیں ، لٹریچر، آرٹس کے 3 سے 4 شیلف انگلش ناول اور اردو ناول کے 5 سے 6 شیلف اردو کی تاریخی کتابیں سفر نامہ 

آٹو بائیو گرافی اور انڈین ہسٹری:۔ 990سے 1000کتابیں پاکستان اسٹیڈی سندھ، قائد اعظم کے بارے میں 8 سے 10شیلف 100 کتابیں فلاسفی کے بارے میں اور 150کتابین تقریباً فزیالوجی پر دستیاب ہیں اس کے علاوہ برموڈا ٹرائینگل اور افریقن ہسٹری پر مختلف مواد دستیاب ہیں اور ان پر تقریباً70سے 80 کتابیں بھی موجود ہیں لائبریری کی ٹائمنگ صبح 9 سے 12 اور شام میں 2 سے 6 

انٹر ٹیسٹ کی تیاری کرنیوالے طالب علم کی اکثریت آتی ہے ۔ یہاں انسائیکلو پیڈیا کی تقریباً4000 کتاب اور ڈکشنری کی 500 کتابیں پڑھنے والے کے علم کی پیاس بجھاتی ہیں یہ سب جانتے ہیں کہ انسائیکلو پیڈیا 100 فیصد درست اور مستند ہوتی ہے یہاں کتاب کے کوڈ 1 سے 1000 تک ہوتے ہیں ۔

مختلف مذاہب پر تقریباً 200 کتاب اور اسلام پرتقریباً300 کتابیں دستیاب ہیں اور ایجوکیشن پر 400کتابیں دستیاب ہیں روزانہ کی بنیاد پر تقریباً150سے200 کتابیں جاری کی جاتی ہیں غیر مسلم طالب علم کم آتے ہیں ۔

پہلے اس لائبریری کو ایشیاء ڈویلپمنٹ فنڈ سے امداد ملتی تھی جو کہ اب بہت کم ہو چکی ہے اب یہ گورنمنٹ کے تعاون سے خود بک خریدتی ہیں یہاں تقریباً 300 سے 350 کتابیں میڈیا کے بارے میں بھی دستیاب ہیں ، زولاجی ، اور بوٹنی پر بھی کتابیں دستیاب ہیں ۔ 700 سے 800 طالب علم یہاں روزانہ آتے ہیں لائبریری سلپ پر 3 بک جاری کی جاتی ہیں یہاں مختلف ہال ہیں جہاں بیٹھ کر کتابیں پڑھ سکتے ہیں یہاں کا اسٹاف انتہائی تعاون کرنے والا اور مدد گار ہے ۔

ایک اہم بات جو کہ ذہن میں رہی اس تاریخی ورثہ کی حفاظت کے لئے مناسب سیکیورٹی کا انتظام نہ ہونے کے برابر ہے مزید یہ کہ یہاں پر سیکیورٹی کے کیمرے انتہائی کم ہے جن میں بھی اکثر خراب ہیں حکام کو اس پر توجہ دینے کی ضرورت ہے میرے لیے سندھ اور خصوصاً حیدرآبا دکیلئے ایک مایہ ناز سرمایہ ہے جس کی حاظت تعمیر و ترقی ہم سب کی ذمہ داری ہے۔
