Law breaking and its consequences

People ignore road traffic laws it can be both frustrating and dangerous. Riding a motorcycle can be a lot of fun but it’s also dangerous. Bikes give children freedom and independence.  A lot of it has to do with Inexperience, but it’s not always inexperience, riders who end up in the hospital youngsters, especially on  independence day, eid, new year’s evening do one wheeling on their bikes on roads .The resident of the area also appealed to parents to strictly advise their children to avoid this dangerous stunt. Mostly children under 16 can be seen, riding their motor cycles at high speed on a single-wheel.

Motorcyclists can also be found displaying their dangerous stunts on busy roads of Pakistan without taking even basic protective measures like wearing a helmet. These bikers run through streets on shab-e-bara at and many other occasions we now see the same bikers showing their stunts in different rallies and protests. We regularly read and hear news about accidents caused by these one-wheelers. Not only do they put their own life in danger, they endanger those of others as well.

IGP Sindh AD Khawaja has taken strict notice of a published news about deaths due to bike one-wheeling in Hyderabad and sought a detailed report about its prevention from DIG Hyderabad says a statement of Sindh police IGP Sindh instructed all SSPs to take strict notice on one-wheeling

In Hyderabad according to Dunya news  Law enforcers held at least 12 youths and seized motorcycles for flouting the law to perform one-wheeling on roads. The boys, some of them under age riders of motorcycle were punished on the spot and made to do sit-ups. They were filmed while complying to the orders by the passer-bys.  The Hyderabad police on the instructions of IG Sindh arrested more than 400 motorcyclists throughout Hyderabad for over speeding and one-wheeling earlier this morning in 29 different jurisdictions of the city.
According to details, the Hyderabad police conducted raids in different areas at Sehri time, and caught more than 400 motorcyclists for over speeding and one-wheeling, however, no case was filled against these persons and their families were called for warning.

The spokesperson of police told media that from the 1st of Ramadan approximately 17 cases of over speeding and one-wheeling were reported in which the motorcyclists lost their lives, while more than 54 cases of critically injured bikers were reported.
He said that on the special instructions of IG Sindh police, these raids were conducted and 400 bikers were arrested, it would be assured that no such cases are reported, he added. For controlling the menace of  one-wheeling, the city traffic police would arrange special duty on different places of the city police has to made special arrangements to stop one-wheeling incidents on occasions with out 10,000 police deployed on city roads.

The government needs to enforce strict law to eliminate this dangerous activity. Dangerous bike riding not only destroys the costly life of motorcyclists but also result in fatal loss of innocent people and lifetime turmoil of the parents. One-wheeling is a curse not for our society but also for our young generation. But it will go on until government does not take serious action and make laws  to punish these bikers.
